Celebrity Course
May 16, 2016 marked the day that we played the first golf course of our year and a half trip around the world. We decided that Indian Wells golf resort would be a perfect place to start and they did not disappoint. First, we played the Celebrity course and it proved to be not only a good test of golf but also one of the most scenic desert courses we have played. Starting with the bag drop staff and ending with birdies on the 18th, the entire experience was all we could have ever asked for. If you like great service, beautiful views, and outstanding course conditioning, Indian Wells is for you! The shorter and easier of the two, the Celebrity course is still a great use of 4 hours and will certainly not disappoint. Stunning vistas, a fun layout, and a fair test of golf is everything the Celebrity course embodies. Play Celebrity as a warm up round before playing the Players course, you will need it!
Players Course
Offering perhaps the most difficult finishing hole, and being the longer and tougher of the two courses at the resort, the Players course brings a challenge to those who seek one. Navigating the Players course is never a dull moment with well-placed bunkers, beautiful-looking golf holes, and a truly unique layout. Embrace the challenge but don’t forget your camera to capture the beauty that Indian Wells has to offer! After playing Celebrity the day before, we had started to develop some of the local knowledge on the greens and were ready to take on the challenge of the Players course. Again, we were amazed by the fantastic service from the time we arrived to the time we left. A choice of two ranges, a massive putting green, and dedicated short game area make Indian Wells one of the premier facilities in the desert. The Players course offers an opportunity to hit a wide variety of shots and rewards precision while punishing bad shots. Undulating greens require shots into the right area of the green to set up birdie putts but also are big enough to provide an easy look at par. Even though it’s quite the challenge, a wide spectrum of tee boxes allows for an awesome experience regardless of skill level.
We can’t wait until our next desert trip so we can play both tracks again. The service, course conditioning, and layouts put Indian Wells Golf Resort into the realm of perfection.
