Brief: This post is about our top 5 best public courses in Colorado!

With the summer firmly lodged in our rear view mirrors it’s time to start planning a winter getaway or for a 2019 mid season getaway. If you and your regular 4 ball need a change of scenery, look into Colorado as your next golfing destination! This state offers a little something for everyone and golf fanatics are pretty spoiled when it comes to unique places to play. We had the pleasure of playing some of the best public courses the state has to offer and this is our list of the Top 5 Public courses to play in Colorado!

Number 5 – The Golf Club at Redlands Mesa

Golf Digest and Golf Week have sung high praise for this course in the past. Golfweek ranked it as the #1 golf course you can play in Colorado. Take 5 minutes to scroll through some pictures and you’ll see why. This place is gorgeous! Over half of the tee’s are elevated leaving you with views days! You’ll definitely want your phone or camera handy while playing this course. The mountains desert vista’s in the background of almost every shot you hit will ensure that your round here is memorable.

Number 4 – The Broadmoor Golf Club

This property shows off 2 pretty unreal golf courses. The East Course taking the majority of the accolades and praise. They hosted the 2018 US Senior Open and many more high caliber events. This place is a fair test with perfectly manicured…..Everything and mountain views at turn. If you want a picturesque day on the course coupled with a little bit of history, set up a time at The Broadmoor Golf Club and get there early! Soak it all in!

Number 3 – Arrowhead

Arrowhead is one of the more visually stunning golf courses I have ever had the pleasure of playing. The massive rock formations make you feel small to say the least but they are unlike anything I have ever seen on a golf course. Ranked in the top 10 most photographed golf courses in the world and for good reason. The Red Sandstone rocks towering over the fairways and tee boxes will leave you pretty much speechless. This place is top of the line in every way possible and if you need a new screen saver, you’ll find it here. Don’t miss out on Arrowhead on your next trip to Denver!

Number 2 – Pole Creek

Much like the rest of the courses in Colorado, the alpine views are a huge selling point at Pole Creek. With 3 courses to choose from, sprawled out on a beautifully massive piece of property, this is golf heaven. There is an abundance of fantastic elevation change, wildflowers, and the property is impeccably maintained. Just need to watch out for the water features! The lakes and ponds are beautifully placed, maintained and above all things, in play! A tough ball striking day could mean that your bag returns lighter than when it left! However, don’t let a little challenge deter you from teeing it up at Pole Creek! It’s a must play in the area!

Number 1 – Red Sky Ranch & Golf Club

2 of the best Public courses in the United States are located at Red Sky! The courses are named after their designers Norman and Fazio. There is a ridge that separates the 2 course and it acts as a wildlife corridor, how cool is that? The common theme of courses in Colorado obviously applies here and once again, this course offers amazing mountain views. The layout of both courses work with the natural landscapes allowing these holes to seamlessly blend in with their surroundings. If feels like this property was meant to be a golf haven. The staff does an amazing job at making you feel welcome and maintaining their beautiful golf courses. Red Sky Ranch is as good as it gets when it comes to golf in Colorado!
